About the Awards Program

Massachusetts Family Business Awards program

The Massachusetts Family Business of the Year Awards program was created 7 years ago in a partnership between Northeastern University's Center for Family Business and The Family Firm Institute New England Chapter, to promote and highlight some of the great achievements of Massachusetts-based, family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.

Today, the Awards program is hosted by The Northeastern University Center for Family Business and annually presents three family businesses, based on size, with Massachusetts Family Business of the Year Awards to recognize them for their successfully run and managed family businesses.

In 2009, The Northeastern University Center for Family Business created the Certificate of Generational Achievement to recognize the hard work and accomplishment of those family businesses that successfully achieve generational transition and continuity in their business
